Hey Bill, Thanks for the question. I meant Charismatic theologically.Evans describes himself as a Baptist with Pentecostal leanings. Sounds pretty Charismatic to me. But I would be open to hearing more about why he doesn’t meet the definition.
The Tower of Babel comes to mind when considering these mega churches and their downfall. Church Inc was never the right model, but why do Christians flock to these organizations? I am re-examining my own reasons for doing so over the years. It seems that despite all of my Bible reading, I still haven’t grasped the depth of truth and Truth Yahweh has graciously given us in it. “Let My people go, that they may worship Me” was not a command just for Pharaoh, but for all humanity, allowing every believer the access to connect with Him, not allowing anyone, even Christian leaders, to step in the way to take what is rightfully His.
Hey Stephen, no need to say “alleged child molester” when Morris acknowledged the fact, even though he referred to his 12 year old victim as a “young lady!”
The Lord is cleaning house, I believe. He is coming back for a pure bride, and hypocrisy/crimes/deception need to be dealt with. There must be accountability and genuine help and support for victims. I’m getting tired of throwing out books; first it was my James McDonald books, then my Ravi Zacharias books. Now to track down my one Robert Morris book and toss it in the trash too.
Brother Stephen, you used the term “charismatic” to describe Tony Evans. Did you mean to use this term in the sense that he shares the same theology as Morris or in the sense of his personality being very engaging or dynamic? It’s my understanding that Tony Evans has a different theological perspective on the scriptures than does the other pastors you referred to. Additionally, you stated that Morris and Bickle are associates of Evans. Could you elaborate, please. In what way are these three associated? Thank you for sharing the story and your insights into this troubling time in the life of the church of Jesus Christ.

Stephen, thanks for the clarification. Thank you once again for your efforts to serve the church. May God bless you, Bill.
